NEW TO YESHUAT TSION?

If this is your first time to Yeshuat Tsion - we want you to feel welcome!  We worship Yeshua (Jesus) in a Hebraic setting, incorporating many meaningful Jewish elements. Please feel free to ask questions!  We love to share our understanding of the 1st Century Body of Messianic Believers (Jew and Gentile).  Our Shabbat (Sabbath) service follows this pattern:

YESHUAT TSION order of service


  • Opening Prayer
  • Praise and Worship - The Praise and Worship team leads the congregation in corporate worship, including song and dance.
  • Yeshua's Supper (Monthly) - All who have received Yeshua as Messiah, Savior and L-rd are invited to partake of the matzah (unleavened bread) and wine.  Celebrated on the first Shabbat of every month.
  • Torah Service -  To view this week's Torah Readings, CLICK HERE
  • Opening the Ark - The cabinet housing the Torah scroll is opened and the scroll removed.
  • "Shema Yisrael" - "Hear O Israel".  Tanach, Deuteronomy 6:4-9.  Holding the Torah scroll, the leader faces the congregation and together all recite Israel's affirmation of abiding faith in the One G-d.
  • Parashiyot - Torah Portion Commentary.
  • Torah Reading - The Torah reader chants in Hebrew a prescribed portion, Parashah, (see Parashah website page) from the Torah scroll.  Week by week, over the course of a year, the entire Torah -- Genesis through Deuteronomy -- is read.
  • Closing the Ark - As the Torah scroll is returned to the ark the congregation sings "Ets Chayim" - "It Is A Tree of Life" honoring G-d's Torah - G-d's Instructions - in our lives.
  • Prayer for Jerusalem - As we are Watchmen on the Wall for Israel (Isaiah 62), we pray for Israel weekly.
  • Monthly Ministry Updates - Reports on the ministries we support and current events.
  • Announcements - About upcoming meetings and events.
  • Scripture Reading - The passage upon which the message is based is read before the congregation.
  • Message - The Rabbi or Guest Teacher addresses the congregation. These are available Messages. All are available on YouTube.
  • Kiddush (Santification) - Kiddush means Sanctification.  It commemorates G-d's work of creation.  We are then led in the blessing over the wine and the braided Shabbat bread (challah).  We honor G-d in the seventh day by setting it apart. [Suspended during COVID]
  • Aaronic Benediction, Numbers 6:24-26 - At the conclusion of the sermon, the congregation stands for prayer and the Aaronic Benediction is pronounced over them.

AARONIC BENEDICTION

One of our rabbis or elders pronounces The Blessing over the congregation -- the blessing G-d told Moses that Aaron and his sons, the priestly family, were to put on the people of Israel.

With this blessing the service is concluded.
